Built for the biggest lines. Tuned for the longest missions.

The Gnarnia Carbon Splitboard is our high-octane upgrade to the already versatile Gnarnia - designed for big mountain senders, dawn patrol addicts, and anyone who wants maximum performance with minimum weight on the skintrack. We took our trusted freeride shape and infused it with a high-response carbon layup, plus a featherweight core to create a splitboard that’s light on the uphill, yet locked-in and powerful on the down.

Crafted with the same directional shape, setback stance, and moderate taper as the standard Gnarnia Split, this carbon edition floats with ease in deep snow while staying composed in technical terrain but where it really shines is the construction. The Strike Split Core blends paulownia and poplar with aluminum stringers for strength and snap without excess grams, while Bamboo Inserts boost torsional rigidity for edge hold you can trust when things get steep and spicy.

It’s finished with all the splitboard features Weston is known for - SplitTech edges for uphill grip and tail-shifted balance for easier kick turns, a Rugged Topsheet for long-term durability, Full Perimeter UHMW Sidewalls to protect against rocks and rough transitions, and Skinlock System compatibility for smooth transitions. Like everything we build, it’s rider-tested and guide-approved, backed by our 4-Year Warranty and Board Slayer Program.

If your ideal day includes 4,000 vert before lunch and a technical descent under headlamp, the Gnarnia Carbon Split is your new ride-or-die.

Bamboo Inserts

Reinforced bamboo at binding mounts adds strength, prevents pull-outs, and keeps flex consistent for long-lasting splitboard durability.

Vertical Aluminum

Lightweight power, dialed-in. By embedding vertical aluminum stringers into our paulownia cores, we crank up the dampening and torsional stiffness without adding bulk. The vertical orientation is nearly 4x more efficient than traditional layouts, meaning better energy transfer and precision when it counts most.

Split-Tech

We don’t skimp on our splits. You’ll see a full inner metal edge, complete with sidewall and dampening tape. Also, when facing a kickturn on a steep slope, you want all the help you can get - that’s why we balance our splits so that they are tail heavy.

Phantom Herc Hooks

Strong, like Hercules. Lightweight. And totally shift-proof!

LAYUP

Strike Core

Paulownia is the poster child of cores. It has the best strength-to-weight ratio, which makes it an ideal choice for lightweight touring builds. But to take it to the next level we had to think outside the box. Instead of traditional stringers that run the entire length of the core, we turned everything on an angle, allowing us to vary the thickness of each piece and fine tune the flex throughout the ski. It then got infused with aluminum stringers for improved stiffness and dampening. This combination is our most high-tec core and is a dream going up and down.

Carbon Fiber Layup

Light. Fast. Snappy. Dialed for the diehards.

Sintered DuraSurf 4001 Base

Fast ride, more durable, good wax retention. It's the gold standard in bases. The 4000-series sintered base have a higher density than other options on the market, leading to better durability. Additionally, this structure absorbs more wax, making for a faster and smoother ride*. 4000-series PTEX is usually reserved for only top-of-the-line boards due to a higher manufacturing cost, but at Weston we use these on every board we make.

*With great power comes great responsibility. Higher wax absorption means the wax will also release faster and requires waxing more often. If you can’t remember the last time your board has been waxed, it's probably due. A quick coat every couple of rides will keep your board lightning fast.

MATERIALS

Rugged Topsheet

Think Rhino-Liner for your snowboard. This topsheet is bomb-proof and is designed to resist scratches and chipping. Plus its hydrophobic properties help to shed snow and prevent buildup. And if you weren’t sold already, it's made of castor beans instead of petroleum products, reducing the environmental footprint. The only downside is stickers don’t like to stick to it… but that's what helmets are for anyways.

UHMW (Ultra-High Molecular Weight) Sidewalls

Highly durable and impact resistant. Takes the hits. Keeps charging.

Carbon Steel Edges

  • Bio-Based Topsheets

A portion of these topsheets are derived from Castor Beans, reducing the need for petroleum based products.

  • Solvent-Free Inks

The inks in our graphics generally use natural carriers and have low to no VOCs, making them safer to work with and better for the environment.

  • Flax Fibers

Flax fibers provide great characteristics when it comes to strength and dampening, while being derived from natural plants.

  • Sustainably Sourced Cores

The wood in the cores is grown and harvested from plantations instead of from natural forests, making the process less invasive and destructive.

  • Die-Cut Bases

Solid color die-cut bases reduce the waste created by other graphics approaches, and the black is more easily repaired.

  • Recycled Material In Edges

The edges use upwards of 50% recycled materials, reusing scrap in production and reducing the need for virgin materials.

  • VOC Free Epoxy

The epoxy we use is VOC free, making it safer to work with and better for the environment without sacrificing durability or performance.
