Weston Manufacturing Code of Conduct

2022/2023 Season


We at Weston understand that our impacts extend to our customers, but also throughout the supply chain to the people and places where our products are made. We are working to ensure that our products are responsibly sourced from suppliers that care about these people and places as much as we do. We acknowledge that supply chains can be far from transparent, but we’re working to ensure that all of our suppliers not only comply with local rules and regulations, but exceed those with best practices whenever possible. We will continue to evolve this process and new information comes out and new practices are established.

Code of Compliance

Our Suppliers implement this Code and the applicable laws into their business practices and submit to verification and monitoring when applicable. When differences or conflicts in standards arise, Our Suppliers first priority is to comply with the highest standard that is, when applicable.

Employment Relationship

Our Suppliers adhere to all rules and conditions of employment that respect workers and, at a minimum, safeguards their rights under local, national, and international labor and social security laws and regulations.

Nondiscrimination

Our Suppliers treat all employees with the utmost respect during all stages of the employment relationship and does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, color, national origin, age, physical or mental disability, medical condition, political opinion, union affiliation, social group, marital status, pregnancy or any other classification protected by local, national, and international law.

Harassment or Abuse

Our Suppliers treat all employees with respect and dignity. No employee shall be subject to physical, sexual, psychological or verbal harassment or abuse or to monetary fines as a disciplinary practice.

Forced / Child Labor

Our Suppliers do NOT use involuntary or forced labor, whether indentured, bonded, prison or labor obtained through slavery or human trafficking.

Our Suppliers actively monitor any third party assisting in recruitment or hiring employees to ensure no individual is compelled to work through force, deception, intimidation, coercion or as punishment for personally held views. Workers are not required to lodge deposits or identity papers upon commencing employment with Our Suppliers.

Our Suppliers do NOT use child labor in its workforce. Our Suppliers will not employ anyone under the age for completion of compulsory education.

Freedom of Association and Collective Bargaining

All of Our Suppliers employees are free to join organizations of their own choosing. This includes the right to form and join trade unions and other worker organizations and participate in collective bargaining without fear of harassment, interference, or retaliation.

Our Suppliers have developed effective, respectful, and transparent grievance mechanisms to resolve disputes, complaints and ensure effective communication between employees, employee representatives and management.

Health & Safety

Our Suppliers provide all employees with a safe, healthy and clean workplace, designed to prevent accidents and injuries arising from, or occurring during, the course of work.

Our Suppliers comply with all environmental, workplace health and safety laws of corresponding jurisdiction including all work environment, sanitation and safety measures.

Hours of Work

Our Suppliers do NOT require employees to work more than the regular and overtime hours allowed by the Labor laws of the corresponding jurisdiction where the workers are employed. The regular work week shall not exceed the maximum allowed by the law of the corresponding jurisdiction.

Employees are allowed at least 24 consecutive hours of rest in every seven-day period. All overtime work is consensual and free from reprisal if declined.

Our Suppliers compensate all overtime work at a premium rate.

The sum of regular and overtime does not exceed the maximum allowed by the labor laws of the corresponding jurisdiction.

Compensation

Our Suppliers pay its employees an average of over 100% above the Government decreed minimum wage and complies with all legal requirements on wages, and provides all benefits required by law and /or contract.

Environment

Our Suppliers are fully committed to excellence in innovative technologies that reduce the impact their manufacturing has on the environment. This includes resource consumption, as well as water and air emissions. Additionally, Our Suppliers currently meet all these requirements and also those related to chemical restrictions, safely labeling, handling, and storage of approved substances while preventing or mitigating the release of chemicals and hazardous materials. All employees who handle chemicals are adequately trained to do so.

Our Suppliers comply with all applicable environmental laws and regulations of the corresponding jurisdiction and undertake initiatives to promote greater environmental responsibility when possible.

Transparency

Our Suppliers are fully compliant and transparent when submitting to onsite inspections as well as maintaining all accurate documentation necessary for demonstrating compliance with the health and safety laws of the corresponding jurisdiction. This includes allowing full access to monitor our production facilities, testing for emissions and conducting workers’ health testing on a regular basis.

Remediation & Continuous Improvement

If notified of any irregularity, Our Suppliers immediately take necessary corrective action to promptly remediate any noncompliance and strive for continuous improvement.

Traceability and Material Sourcing

Our Suppliers prefer only designated suppliers for raw materials and components to maintain supply chain transparency.  Our Suppliers are committed to recycling and also sourcing recycled and organic content wherever possible, and choosing partners who demonstrate leadership in protecting biodiversity, land and water use, low emissions, and chemical management.
