what's your story on finding your way to snowboarding/skiing?
I was lucky enough to grow up in good ole Colorado, being able to start snowboarding at such a young age and to have this hobby be so accessible was probably the best thing my family could have ever given me. My passion for the snow started with snowboarding and now I'm genuinely upset at Colorado for having the most amount of sunny days per year out of the whole country... As I am getting into the backcountry I don't think I could be more content with being freezing cold, gear malfunctions, and epic suffer fests as long as I get to be out there on a split board searching for the good stuff.
Describe Your Best Powder Day in the Backcountry
We have great terrain here in Colorado but sometimes the snow can be a bit rough... Mt. Hood Oregon is a day I'll always hold close to my heart. There is a different definition for "dumping" when referring to PNW snow. That Maritime snowpack is something I'll never take for granted!
Describe A Humbling Day in the Backcountry
A humbling day in the backcountry I have more often than not and it makes me appreciate the sport more every time. There are so many moving parts in the backcountry and to get them all moving the speed at the same time is a perfect day, and those don't come too often. For me, the biggest attribution for humbling days is putting safety first. You can put in as many miles as you want to the tour but at the end if it doesn't feel safe, you turn around or adjust your plans. It doesn't always go the way you anticipated but at the end of the day you were able to get outside and enjoy the things you love and with people you love and that's all that matters.
Because Weston Slays. In all seriousness, its the people here and what this company is about. Safety, shredding, and stoke. What more could I ask for in a company.
What does your quiver look like?
Rise Split152 for those playful days and Eclipse Split 155 for the days I'm trying to keep up with the dawgs.
My dog Wilder.
